LaFAYETTE, Ga. — LaFayette Police say charges are pending for a gas station owner in connection with illegal gambling.
Officers tell NewsChannel 9 the department got complaints from several citizens about the gambling at the Chevron LaFayette convenience store, at 800 North Main Street.
After a month-long investigation, officers served a search warrant at the store Wednesday afternoon.
Police say that investigation involved an undercover agent going to the business several times to validate the complaints about illegal gambling activity.
Police say the undercover agent got numerous cash payouts on his winnings from digital poker machines located on the premises.
LaFayette Police say this is an ongoing investigation with felony criminal charges pending for the owners of this business as well as potential asset seizures.
