MADISON COUNTY, Ala. – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office seized around 100 illegal gambling machines at a storage facility on Winchester Road Monday afternoon.
Capt. Mike Salomonsky said the seizures are the result of a nearly year-long investigation into the operation of illegal gambling machines. Undercover investigators found active machines, identified the operators, and collected money from the machines, he said.
The owners of the storage unit did not know the machines were stored at their facility.
There’s no word yet on who owned the machines and no arrests have been made.
Salomonsky said the storage facility owners will not be charged.
