Privacy Policy

The American Gaming Association (AGA) is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our website (the “Site”), and we have created the following policy to demonstrate our commitment to you. This privacy policy advises our visitors and members of the types of personal information that may be collected on this Site and the practices that the AGA follows with respect to the use and dissemination of such information.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding this privacy policy, please contact us via e-mail at [email protected], fax at 202-637-2676 or mail to American Gaming Association, 1299 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 1175, Washington, DC, 20004.

Information we collect
The Site collects personally identifiable information when you voluntarily communicate with us by completing a registration form, making a purchase through our e-store or completing other forms or surveys. This personally identifiable information includes contact data (such as your name, address, phone number and e-mail address) and financial data (such as a credit card profile or shipping company account number), as well as other types of information you choose to provide us.

Any comment, question, answer, information, message or picture that you submit that may be posted on our Site, including but not limited to the posting of comments on our blog, is a public communication and may be viewed by the general public. Therefore, you acknowledge and understand that you have no expectation of privacy or confidentiality in the content you submit for such uses over our Site, whether or not the communication includes personal information about you. If you display personal information in any communication submitted for such uses, other individuals may collect and use your personal information. While we may remove personal information from postings to our Site, we assume no obligation to do so. We are not responsible for, nor can we guarantee the protection of, any personal information you disclose in a communication submitted for such purposes or you include in an email or other communication submitted to us for such posting, and thus, you acknowledge that if you disclose personal information in any such material, you do so at your own risk.

In addition, our web servers automatically collect and log web usage data and other non-personal information from you when you visit the Site. This information, including your IP address, referring site, pages viewed and length of visit, informs us about how visitors use and navigate our Site. We may also use a third party service such as Google Analytics to track trends and Site usage.

How we use and share information collected
We use personally identifiable information collected through the Site to verify membership status; to provide products, information or services requested; and to improve the content and effectiveness of the Site. In addition to the purpose for which you originally submitted the information, we may use the information you provide to make you aware of other AGA benefits, products or events. We also may utilize your contact information to provide you with information about Global Gaming Expo (G2E), our industry trade show, and the National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG), our affiliated charity.

Except as set forth in this privacy policy or we disclose otherwise at the point of collection of personally identifiable information, we do not sell or share the personally identifiable information we collect on the Site with non-affiliated third parties for their own use. However, we will provide personally identifiable information to non-affiliated third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, or to otherwise comply with law, to protect our interests, or when we believe in good faith the law requires it. We may also use third-party suppliers and service providers to fulfill the services offered on our Site and may make personal information (including financial data) available to them to the extent necessary for them to provide services to us (for example, to process a credit card payment or ship you a product).

In addition, we may use and share with others aggregated and/or anonymous (not personally identifiable) information that we have collected based on Web-usage data or statistical information that we have compiled about our users.

Use of Cookies
Like most websites, we employ cookies to help visitors and members more efficiently use the Site. A cookie is a string of information that is sent by a website and stored on a user’s hard drive. We use cookies to continually enhance your experience, and may use them to store your preferences and to customize content specific to your needs. If you do not want your browser to accept cookies, you can modify the cookie option in your browser’s settings. Each browser is different, so you will need to check your specific browser’s “Help” menu to learn how to change the cookie preferences. You can also set your browser to notify you when a site sends you a cookie. However, some Site features or services may not function properly without cookies.

If you would prefer to opt-out of receiving future marketing communications or publications from the AGA, please notify us of your preferences by e-mail at [email protected], and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to fulfill your request. However, we cannot guarantee that the information you provide us has not been already shared with G2E or the NCRG.

The personally identifiable information we collect about you is stored in limited access servers. We use industry standard SSL technology when receiving credit card information, and we periodically review and update our security measures in light of current technologies. While we have measures in place to help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security and make proper use of the information that we collect, no transmission of data over the Internet is guaranteed to be completely secure; and we cannot guarantee the security of any information you provide to us.

Reviewing your Information
You may review and update the personally identifiable information we have collected about you by contacting us via e-mail at [email protected] To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps to verify your identity before we disclose or make any corrections to such information.

We make content from affiliated and other third-party websites available to you from optional links located on the Site. Please be aware that these websites are not subject to this AGA privacy policy, and we thus recommend that you review the privacy policy of each such website to determine how that website protects your privacy.

Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information on the Site from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have personally identifiable information on a child under the age of 13 we will delete that information.

Non-U.S. Visitors to the Site
Please note that the Site is directed towards users who reside in the United States. It is not our intent to gather personally identifiable information from individuals residing outside of the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, the information you provide to the AGA will be transferred to the United States whose laws may not provide the same level of protection for personal information as your home country. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.

Policy Modifications
The AGA reserves the right to change this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices. Any changes to the AGA privacy policy, including information collected and the use and disclosure of information, will be posted here. Following any modification, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this privacy policy, so be sure to check back periodically for the most current version of our privacy policy.
