Deputies seize gambling machines from Cowpens business

COWPENS, SC (FOX Carolina) –

Cherokee County deputies seized six illegal poker machines from a home on Wallace Road Monday, according to investigative reports.

Deputies said they received a tip that the illegal machines were in operation inside a local business. The deputies visited the location and asked the owner, Steve Sullivan about the machines. Reports say the owner voluntarily showed the deputies the illegal machines.

The machines were removed from the business and deputies said they seized the six illegal poker machines along with $417.00 cash that was profited from the machines.

According to reports the narcotics officers ticketed a second person in the business as well for 1-count of gambling/unlawful and that the person was not arrested but ordered to appear in court at a later date.

Narcotics officers have charged Steve Sullivan with six counts of gambling/unlawful possession of poker machines, reports state.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding similar illegal gambling operations or activity to call local law enforcement.
